Speedo Canada announces Para-swimming incentive program recipients

News, Para-swimming –

Speedo Canada has announced the recipients of its incentive program from the IPC World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In total, $5,000 was awarded to 15 swimmers.

The prize money was distributed based on medal performances at the Championships. The top winners were Aurelie Rivard (St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que.), Benoit Huot (Saint-Lambert, Que.), and Tess Routliffe (Caledon, Ont.)

Rivard took home a total of 4 medals, which were highlighted by a pair of golds in the 50 freestyle and 400 freestyle. Meanwhile, Huot earned 3 medals and Routliffe won a silver.

Incentive programs such as this one support athletes on their journey towards Paralympic and Olympic medal performances. Speedo Canada will be offering a similar incentive program for Para-swimmers at the 2015 Can Am Open, and will double their awards to $10,000 total at the 2016 Paralympic Games.

Speedo Canada is a long-term partner of Swimming Canada and continues to be committed to supporting world-class swimmers in Canada.
