Amanda Reason sets new 50 Breaststroke National Mark

TORONTO, ON - Amanda Reason of the Etobicoke swim club broke her own Canadian Record in the 50 breast this past weekend in her home pool at the Ontario Senior Provincials at the Etobicoke Olympium. She won the event in 31.24 lower her previous mark by one 100th of a second.

Over the course of the competition, seven age group records were broken:

13-14 Female
Lauren Earp (ESWIM)- 100 free, 56.69 (relay lead off) – Provincial and National Age Group Record
Lauren Earp (ESWIM) - 200 free, 2:03.66 – Provincial record
Annie Harrison, Marni Oldershaw, Mika Spencer, Sharalynn Missiuna, (OAK) - 4x100 Medley Relay, 4:23.12 – Provincial and National Age Group Record:

15-18 Female
Heather MacLean (ESWIM) - 100 free - 55.65 – Provincial record
Heather MacLean – (ESWIM) 200 free - 1:59.73 – Provincial and National Age Group (15-17) record
Lauren Earp, Amanda Reason, Britany MacLean and Heather MacLean, (ESWIM), 4x100 Free (15-17) - 3:46.20 – Provincial and National Age Group

Britany MacLean, Amanada Reason, Tasha Truscott and Heather MacLean, (ESWIM), 4x100 Medley Relay, 4:12.40 – Provincial and National Age Group (15-17)

Etobicoke Swimming won the Ontario Senior Provincial title with Scarborough Swim Club winning the Small Team Award.

Olympian Lindsay Seeman of Newmarket Stingrays won the female high-point and Hassaan Abdel-Khalik of Etobicoke Swimming won the male high-point.
