Quebec Swimming Federation announces departure of Technical Director, Mister Alain Lefebvre
September, 09, 2011

It is with regret that we announce Alain Lefebvre's departure, as Technical Director of the Quebec Swimming Federation to pursue other career opportunities.

He will leave us on September 21st to take up a new challenge as Coordinator, High Performance Sports, at Université de Montréal.

Over the past 12 years, Mr. Lefebvre has met several significant challenges during his tenure at the Quebec Swimming Federation and has provided expert oversight in his key areas of responsibilities: swimmer development and high performance.

He is one of the key architects in the application of the long term athlete development model in Quebec and Canada. Mr. Lefebvre is considered an expert by his peers and has been a speaker at several national conferences on this topic.

During his tenure, Mr. Lefebvre has been a key advisor to many of the Quebec Swimming Federation’s High Performance coaches and athletes.  His colleagues will sorely miss this skill-set.

The Board of Directors are committed to ensuring that the departure of Mr. Lefebvre will not affect the level of technical direction and support extended to the swimming community in Quebec.  As such, temporary actions will be taken to have a continuity of services for our athletes, coaches and administrators.  Before filling the post, the Board of Directors will reflect on its current staff structure prior to revising the long-term priorities of its permanent structure.

The Quebec Swimming Federation, Board of Directors and staff offers Mr. Lefebvre our very best wishes in his new career.  We would like to thank Alain for his collaborations and significant contributions made over the many years. The entire swimming community will miss him!
