Policy Subsection: Program Policy
Policy Title: Para-swimming
Swimming Natation Canada (SNC) provides specific coaching, training and competitive programs for swimmers with a disability (“Para-swimming”).
To encourage full participation in the sport of swimming and ensure that access for swimmers with a disability is a consideration when developing, revising and delivering SNC policies and programs.
In conjunction with the Canadian Paralympic Committee (“CPC”) the International Paralympic Committee (“IPC”) and other partner organizations, Swimming Canada sanctions, hosts and sends representatives to competitions that include swimmers with a disability.
SNC takes all reasonable measures to honour its obligations to funders and partner organizations when providing financial and other resources to Para-swimming athletes.
Ensure that staff and the membership understand and uphold the principles that guide this policy.
Ensure that SNC policies and programs continue to maintain the principles of this policy. This must be accomplished in alignment with all relevant partner organizations including Sport Canada, CPC, IPC, Provincial Sections and Clubs.
