Tabitha’s Bio

  • At the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games, Baumann swam the morning heat in the 4×200-m freestyle relay, which later won a bronze medal.
  • At the Pan Am Games, Baumann won the B Final of her 400-m freestyle with the home nation crowd cheering as hard as they could. She also finished 10th in the 800-m freestyle.
  • Baumann won the gold medal in the 800-m freestyle and silver in the 400-m freestyle at the Team Canada Trials to gain the berth.
  • Made her first senior national team in 2014, qualifying for Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacific Championships. She finished 13th in the 400-m and 800-m freestyle at Commonwealth Games. At Pan Pacs she competed in three events, finishing 13th in the 800, 18th in the 400 and 24th in the 200-m freestyle.
  • Baumann took gold in the 1,500-m freestyle and added bronze in the 800 free and 400 free races in 2014 at the Fran Crippen Swim Meet in MIssion Viejo, Calif.
  • In 2013, she won gold in the 1,500-m freestyle at the Santa Clara Grand Prix.
  • In 2011 she made the senior ‘B’ Nations Cup team and won a bronze medal for Canada in the 1,500-m freestyle. In 2011 she represented Canada internationally at the World Junior Championships in Lima, Peru.
  • Baumann specializes in distance events and in practice she says she enjoys longer sets because it allows her to get more “into it.” Despite her success in the pool Baumann says she still gets very nervous before a race.
