Gabe’s Bio

• Mastromatteo took home two medals at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile including a silver in the 4×100 mixed medley and the 4×100 medley relays.
• He finished sixth overall in 100-metre breaststroke at the Pan American games.
• At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Mastromatteo swam the breaststroke leg of the men’s 4×100-m medley relay that placed seventh. He was also a member of the mixed 4×100-m medley that finished 13^th. Individually, Mastromatteo placed 38^th in the 100-m breaststroke.
• At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Trials, Mastromatteo won gold in the 100-m breaststroke. His performance qualified Mastromatteo for his first Olympic Games.
• At the Gwangju 2019 FINA World Championships, Mastromatteo finished 39^th in the 200-m breaststroke.
• Mastromatteo captured silver in the men’s 50-m breaststroke in a personal best time at the Budapest 2019 FINA World Junior Championships. He was also a member of the mixed 4×100-m medley and the men’s 4×100-m medley that brought home bronze medals.
• At the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials, Mastromatteo qualified for the 2019 FINA World Championships, his first senior national team, by earning silver in the 50-m and 100-m breaststroke.
• Mastromatteo won gold in the 100-m breaststroke and finished sixth in the 200-m breaststroke at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships in Fiji.
• At the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships in Indianapolis, Mastromatteo won a gold medal as the breaststroke swimmer of the mixed 4×100-m medley relay. He also finished eighth in the 50-m breaststroke and ninth in the 100-m breaststroke.
• At the 2018 Canadian Swimming Championships, Mastromatteo won gold in the 50-m and 200-m breaststroke. He also captured silver in the 100-m breaststroke.
• At the 2018 Canadian Junior Championships, Mastromatteo won gold in the 100-m and 200-m breaststroke.
• At the 2018 Canadian Swimming Trials in Edmonton, Mastromatteo finished third and eighth in the 100-m and 200-m breaststroke.
• At the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, Mastromatteo took home four total medals, including three gold. Two gold came in relay events (4×50 and 4×100-m medley relay) while his individual gold came in the 50-m breaststroke, where he also set the Canada Games record.
• At the 2017 Canadian Swimming Trials, Mastromatteo claimed bronze in the 50-m breaststroke.
