Sophie’s Bio

  • Angus took silver in 100 breaststroke at her first Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. She also swam the breaststroke leg of the prelim team of the 4×100 medley relay which won gold in the final.
  • At the 2023 World Aquatics Championships Angus swam personal best times in both the 50-metre and 100-metre breaststroke, finishing 22nd in both events.
  • Was part of the women’s 4×100-metre medley relay team that won bronze.
  • Angus swam Canada’s second-fastest breaststroke split ever (1:06.21) to help Canada to bronze in the 4×100-metre medley (Annamay Pierse, 1:06.10 in 2009)
  • Qualified for her first World Aquatics Championships in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials.
  • Angus was a member of the 4×100-m medley relay that captured silver at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Individually, she finished 9th in the 50-m breaststroke and 11th in the 100-m breaststroke.
  • At the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Angus finished 24th in the 100-m breaststroke.
  • Sophie Angus won gold in the 100-m breaststroke at the 2022 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials. Her performance qualified her for both the 2022 FINA World Championships and the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
