Hau-Li’s Bio

  • At the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Fan placed 36th in the 10-kilometre event, and 41st in the 5-kilometre.
  • Fan was also a part of the 4×1500 freestyle relay that finished 10th.
  • Hau-Li Fan finished ninth in the 10-km open water race at his first Olympic Games in Tokyo.
  • At the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Fan placed 17th in the 10-km open water race.
  • Fan qualified for a spot on the 2022 FINA World Championships team as the returning Olympian from the Tokyo 2020 Games.
  • At the Gwangju 2019 FINA World Championships, Fan was a member of the mixed 5-km open water relay that finished 13th. Individually, Fan finished 17th in the 10-km open water race.
  • At the 2020 FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier, Fan came 18th in the 10-km open water race. His performance qualified Fan for his first Olympic Games.
  • At the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo, Fan finished seventh in the 10-km open water race.
  • At the 2019 Canadian Open Water Swimming Trials, Fan finished second in the 10-km race, qualifying him for the 2019 FINA World Championships.
  • At the 2019 LEN Open Water Swimming Cup, Fan anchored the 4×1,250-m relay team that captured silver. Individually, he finished seventh in the 10-km race.
  • Fan finished second in the 10-km race at the 2018 UANA Open Water Swimming Championships to earn his spot on the Pan Pacific Championships Open Water team.
  • At the 2018 FINA World Series marathon swimming stop in Seychelles Islands, Fan finished 14th in the 10-km event.
  • At the 2018 U Sports Championships, Fan earned a bronze in the 1500-m freestyle.
  • At the 2017 FINA World Series marathon swimming stop in Roberval, Quebec, Fan earned a bronze medal in the 10-km event.
