Emma’s Bio

• In the 10-kilometre open water race at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, Finlin finished sixth overall.
• Finished in 30^th spot in the women’s 10-kilometre marathon and was part of the 4×1,500 mixed relay that finished in 10^th at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, higher than any previous Canadian team.
• In the pool, Finlin swam to best times in the 800 and 1,500 freestyle. She finished 12^th in the 1,500 and 18^th in the 800. Her 400 split in the 800 was also a lifetime best.
• Qualified for her second senior World Aquatics Championships team by winning the 1,500-m freestyle at the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials and 10-km open water marathon at the open water trials.
• Broke the women’s 1,500-m freestyle Alberta provincial record at the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials.
• At the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Finlin was a member of the mixed 5-km open water relay that finished 11th. She finished 28th in the 5-km open water race.
• At the 2022 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials, Finlin earned bronze in both the 800-m and 1500-m freestyle, qualifying her for the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest.
