Les nageurs sont prêts pour les championnats Speedo de l’Est et de l’Ouest

Nouvelles –

Athletes across Canada are ready for the 2023 Speedo Canada East Championships to be held at the Windsor, Ont. International Aquatic & Training Center, and for the Western Championships to be held at MNP Community & Sport Center in Calgary. The University of Calgary Swim Club and the Etobicoke Swim Club will be looking to defend their 2022 titles.

Both events will be broadcast live atRecTec.

Both championships, which run Thursday through Sunday, will feature some familiar names including Ingrid Wilm of the Cascade Swim Club. The 2022 FINA World Championships medalist in Budapest is expected to compete at the Western Championships before heading to Toronto in two weeks.

Windsor last hosted the championships in 2018 and will host 511 athletes from 89 clubs this year. The last time Calgary hosted a national-level meet was in 2019 at the Canadian Junior Championships, and 412 swimmers from 56 different clubs will be competing.

The four-day competitions will be the last before Canada’s top athletes kick into high gear and prepare for the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials taking place at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center from March 28 to April 2, 2023.

For both competitions, the preliminary sessions will begin at 9 a.m. local time and the finals at 6 p.m.
